1. First Poetry

Pighle neelam sa behta ye sama,
neeli neeli si khamoshiyan,
na kahin hai zameen na kahin aasmaan,
sarsaraati hui tehniyaan pattiyaan,
keh raheen hai bas ek tum ho yahan,
bas main hoon,
meri saansein hain aur meri dhadkanein,
aisi gehraiyaan, aisi tanhaiyaan,
aur main… sirf main.
Apne hone par mujhko yakeen aa gaya…

English Translation:

Like molten sapphire flows this moment,
Bluer than blue are these silences,
Neither earth exists here nor any sky,
The rustling branches and whispering leaves,
Say that only you exist here –
Just me, my breath and my heartbeat,
Such depths, such solitude… and just me.
Now I truly believe in my own existence…

2. Second Poetry

Ik baat honton tak hai jo aayi nahi,
Bas ankhon say hai jhaankti,
Tumse kabhi, mujhse kabhi,
Kuch lafz hain woh maangti,
Jinko pehanke honton tak aa jaaye woh,
Aawaaz ki baahon mein baahein daalke ithlaye woh
Lekin jo yeh ik baat hai,
Ehsaas hi ehsaas hai…

English Translation:

There’s something lingering at my lips that never finds voice,
Just peeks through my eyes sometimes –
At you occasionally, at me at times.

It asks for certain words,
That could ride breath to reach my lips,
To be held in the arms of sound and whispered close…

Yet this thing remains –
Just a feeling… forever a feeling.

3. Third Poetry

Khushboo si hai jaise hawa mein tairti,
Khushboo jo be-aawaaz hai;
Jiska pata tumko bhi hai,
Jiski khabar mujhko bhi hai;
Duniya se bhi chupta nahin,
Yeh jaane kaisa raaz hai.
..

Khushboo si hai jaise hawa mein tairti,
Khushboo jo be-aawaaz hai;
Jiska pata tumko bhi hai,
Jiski khabar mujhko bhi hai;
Duniya se bhi chupta nahin,
Yeh jaane kaisa raaz hai.
..

English Translation:

Like a fragrance floating in the breeze,
A scent that makes no sound;
You’re aware of it,
I sense it too,
Yet the whole world cannot hide it –
What strange mystery is this?

Like a fragrance floating in the breeze,

You’re aware of it,
I sense it too,
Yet the whole world cannot hide it –
What strange mystery is this?

4. Fourth Poetry

Jab jab dard ka baadal chaya
Jab ghum ka saya lehraya
Jab aansoo palkon tak aya
Jab yeh tanha dil ghabraya
Humne dil ko yeh samjhaya
Dil aakhir tu kyun rota hai
Duniya mein yunhi hota hai.
Yeh jo gehre sannaate hain
Waqt ne sabko hi baante hain
Thoda ghum hai sabka qissa
Thodi dhoop hai sabka hissa
Aankh teri bekaar hi namm hai
Har pal ek naya mausam hai
Kyun tu aise pal khota hai
Dil aakhir tu kyun rota hai

English Translation:

Whenever clouds of pain appeared,
Whenever shadows of sorrow swayed,
When tears reached my eyelids,
When this lonely heart grew afraid –

I consoled my heart this way:
‘Dear heart, why do you cry so?
This is how the world goes.’

These deep silences you hear,
Time has given all their share.
Every story has some rain,
Every life knows sunlit days –
Your eyes weep in vain, my dear,
Each moment brings seasons new,
Why lose yourself in passing pain?
Dear heart, why do you cry so?

5. Fifth Poetry

Dilon mein tum apni betaabiyan leke chal rahe ho
Toh zinda ho tum;
Nazar mein khwabon ki bijliyan leke chal rahe ho
Toh zinda ho tum;
Hawa ke jhokon ke jaise aazad rehno sikho,
Tum ek dariya ke jaise lehron mein behna sikho,
Har ek lamhe se tum milo khole apni bhaayein,
Har ek pal ek naya samha dekhen yeh nigahaein,
Jo apni aankhon mein hairaniyan leke chal rahe ho
Toh zinda ho tum;
Dilon mein tum apni betaabiyan leke chal rahe ho
Toh zinda ho tum

English Translation:

If you walk with restlessness in your heart,
Then you are alive;
If your eyes spark with lightning of dreams,
Then you are alive;

Learn to flow free like the wind’s gust,
Be like a river – in waves, adjust.
Open your arms to every moment’s grace,
Let each second unveil a new face,
If your gaze carries wonder’s art,
Then you are alive;
If you walk with restlessness in your heart,
Then you are alive.
